Five Minute Friday: In Real Life

In real life, the floor gets mopped once every two months.

In real life, I'm lucky to get a few minutes to myself to memorize Scripture or give a quick prayer to the Lord.

In real life, dinners are hectic, messy, and often times stressful.

In real life, I don't discipline my kids as well as I hope.

In real life, what should take 5 minutes often takes at least 30 minutes.

In real life, I too often speak with "corrupted speech" instead of words that "impart grace to the hearers."

In real life, I'm good if I get a shower and manage to put foundation on.

In real life, what I see my needs to be are apparently not what the Lord sees them to be.

In real life, my home looks like a tornado hit it.

In real life, my kids resemble street urchins with hair often not combed, clothes mismatched, and peanut butter and jelly left on their faces as remnants of that lunch several hours ago.

In real life, Kate's diaper stays on way too long.

In real life, my attire consists of athletic shorts and t-shirts.

In real life, it's messy.

In real life, it's complicated.

In real life, sin abounds.

In real life, God's grace abounds all the more.

In real life, the Gospel MUST BE my hope, my strength.

Praise be to God that in real life He "knows our frame. He remembers that we are dust." (from Psalm 103)

You're right, our posts do parallel eachother! I identified with EVERYTHING you said. And I'm so happy to know that I'm not the only one...dealing with life as it is and trying to find the beauty and balance in it.
Thank you for visiting and commenting. :)
