Big Girl Bows

I'm sporting a new look here with my pig tails. Mommy decided to let me wear my big girl "ha-poo's" on my piggy tails. She thought it created a much more finished look. I couldn't agree more. I love wearing my ha-poos (hair bows) and am always thrilled by Mommy's innovativeness (Mommy asked me if that was a word...but how should I know..I'm the baby here).

I Found It!

Mommy says it was at about this same age that Hannah found her thumb. The first picture is Hannah's first thumb sucking shot. Well, I think I too can officially be called a thumb sucker. The past few days Mommy has found me sucking my thumb in my crib. Hannah said Mommy jumped up and down and waved her arms in the air one day after coming down from checking on me. I guess she was so happy I found my thumb. Hannah said she didn't think Mommy did that when she started sucking her thumb. I told her it was probably because she didn't realize at the time what a huge help it was. You see, if I can find my thumb, then it calms me down and I can get to sleep easier. I even stay asleep longer. Mommy has had to wake me up a few times. I was so soothed by the thumb I didn't realized it had been awhile since I last ate! Oh and pardon the hair here, people. Remember, I spit up a lot and it just so happened I had gotten it in my hair that day. Therefore, I am sporting the dried spit up look. Mommy says she'll be REALLY happy if I can find my thumb while in the carseat. Life would really be easier then!

Look...It's Me...Hay-Huh

Lately I've been entertaining myself by looking at my reflection in the oven. I say hi to myself...it goes something like this..."hi, hay-huh." I like to give myself kisses and talk to myself. In the one picture where I'm pointing to myself..I'm just letting Mommy know that I know my name. I like to point to myself and say "hay-huh." Mommy has a mirror in her and Daddy's bathroom too. I like to hold conversations with myself and pretend to give myself things. I say, "hereyago," and hold my hands out to the other me on the other side. Sometimes I try to pick myself up and I say, "holdshu," with my hands out as well. I don't quite understand how there are two of me and why we do exactly the same thing..and why I only see the other me in the oven and that mirror in the bathroom. But I guess that's okay. It keeps me entertained.

WalMart is NOT for the Faint-hearted

Well, we've been to Walmart a couple of times since our last post. One of those times proved to be a more bearable experience. However, the other...well it proved to us that Walmart is not for the fainthearted. You see, it all began with what seemed to be some promising potential. We found the special cart right away and parked right next to the cart corral it was in. Grant had fallen asleep rather quickly in his car seat on the way over. And I, well, I, as usual, was as good as gold. So we made our way in. For the first five minutes or so...all was good. But, then it happened. Grant started crying. It was just a simple cry at first...nothing startling. Mommy offered him his pacifier; however, he wouldn't take it. This was a red flag. Mommy knew she had to hit the ground running before his innocent cry turned into an all out wail. It happened sooner than later. Before she made it to the milk he was screaming. And that's when we realized Walmart isn't for the faint hearted. Everyone it seemed was staring at us. . .and not a polite stare. It seemed as if it was a stare that glared into the soul of Mommy as if searching as to whether or not she was a fit mother. Mommy kept her gaze straight ahead...not giving in. Women tried to stop her and suggest she keep the cart moving and that would solve the problem. Mommy and I knew good and well that wouldn't stop the problem. The only thing that would stop the problem would be to get home and get him OUT of THAT SEAT. She didn't try reasoning..she kept her composure and pressed on. But then, out of the blue, came the women driving the motorized cart. She wasn't happy. She was saying something to us across the isle. We had no time to listen. However we would soon get that chance again. As for now, Mommy just moved on, throwing whatever she could into the cart. The list was no longer important. Eyes continued to glare at us. We managed to manuever through the sea of unwanted glances. We were thrilled to find a register that had no line. We raced to it thinking the worst was over. As we unloaded the cart a worker came to inform us that they could hear baby Grant all the way across the store (and you know how big a Super Walmart is). Mommy politely smiled and said he does have a set of lungs while thrusting everthing onto the conveyer belt. But then, we were reaquainted with the motorized grocery cart lady. She pulled up behind us with quite the scowl on her face. Mommy glanced up only to be confronted with this women's opinion of why he was crying. "Is something pinching him in his seat?" she said in an exasperated voice. I could tell Mommy was in no mood to reason with this women. Mommy abruptly informed her he has acid reflux and that he just doesn't like the car seat. As Mommy threw the bags into the cart the women continued to mutter things under her breath. Mommy did catch her saying, "I can't tell if it's a boy or a girl but my heart breaks for that baby." It's a good thing Mommy is non confrontational because if she was...she would have had a few choice words for this women. We were more than happy to wheel out of there...with eyes still staring. As soon as the buggy hit the pavement Grant was sound asleep...just perfect. Needless to say, we learned that Walmart isn't for the faint hearted. Mommy says we made our mark at Walmart that day. She's sure many who were there will go home and say, "We saw this women whose baby was screaming so loud...." So if you hear that story enter your circle of friends...it was us...the Harmans. As for the picture..well...it captures how Mommy and I felt, along with the hundred or so other customers and workers at Walmart that day.

Anna's Visit

On Monday, Mommy's friends Mrs. Liz and Mrs. Sarah came to visit. And guess who they brought with them? Anna! That's Mrs. Liz's daughter. We've met a couple of times before but this time would could enjoy one another a little better since we're older. Our mommies wanted us to take a picture together on the couch so we agreed. And then we got to eat lunch together. Mrs. Liz made a great chicken salad...but I was distracted by the chips and watermelon. I wish we lived closer so I could play with Anna more! I think she would be a great play buddy! It was so great to see you guys...I'm still talking about your visit with Mommy!

Me and My Buddy

I can kind of hold onto my little doggie blanket that Aunt Ash got for me. I was really holding onto it well until Mommy distracted me with the flash from the camera. So these photos don't really show very well how good I was holding onto my doggie. But I'm sure you get the idea.

Still Smilin'

Mommy really seems captivated by my smiles. She just keeps taking pictures of me. But I don't mind. I like the attention. So I throw out some pretty good smiles for her...accompanied by some "a goo's" and other random noises I never knew I could make!

Jesus Loves Me

Lately, I've been reading my Bible with Mommy before bed. Mommy and Daddy talk to me about Jesus and Mommy told me the Bible is about Jesus. Well, we were in my room today playing and I saw my Bible. So, I went and stood on it (already standing firm on the Word of God) and out of the blue I said..."Jesus love me." Then I said, "Jesus, pray." You see we pray to Jesus at dinner and we've started to pray at night to Jesus. This video doesn't capture the moment I said Jesus loves me but it was the best I could do. I say, "bible," and "Jesus" and at the end I say, "bye Jesus." In this video I was trying to sing "Jesus Loves Me." It's hard to hear but I was sure trying. Enjoy!

Still Waiting...

Well, Ellie and I were getting a little antsy for the fireworks to begin so our daddies took us to walk around. Boy was there a lot to see! They had all sort of fun things to do. We got to pet some animals like a sheep and a pony. While we were out and about Mr. Josef got us a glow in the dark bracelet. We're playing with them here...although you can't really tell. Not too long after we got back, the fireworks began. I LOVED them! I kept saying, "yeah," "oh wow," "prepee (pretty)," "oh gosh," while clapping my hands. It was just wonderful! And I had no clue it was 10:00! I wasn't tired at all. I talked about the fireworks all the way home. Mommy and Daddy thought for sure I would have fallen asleep. But how can you fall asleep after an experience like that? When will it be the Fourth again?

What I Did....

Well, while the girls ran around and played...here's what I did. I was asleep once we made it to our spot...but quickly awakened when Mommy put me in the stroller. So, then I got to lay out on the blanket and enjoy the fresh air...along with the extremely loud BOOMS of that thing they call a cannon. Thankfully, Mommy held my ears through it. Why they chose to sit right behind the cannon, I'll never know. But all in all I enjoyed the adventure outdoors. I tried to sleep through the fireworks...still can't see that good so there was no use in me straining my eyes to try to see something that was impossible for me to see. I had a good time but was happy to get home and into my bed.

Waiting for the Fireworks

On the Fourth of July Mommy and Daddy took me and Grant to see fireworks! We also got to go with my best friend, Ellie (ya-yee) and her Mommy, Mrs. Kim (Keem), and her Daddy, Mr. Josef (yoyef). Ellie brought us two chairs to sit in. Well, we did for a minute. But, being the curious and active toddlers we are, we were up and moving shortly after. There were so many people there and we were sitting behind a real canon that they kept shooting off. That caught our attention. But we had to stay back so as not to get hurt.

Me and Daddy

Here we are before we headed out to watch the fireworks. Little did I know how much fun I was about to have!

Come On, Already!

As you can tell from the expressions on my face, I wasn't in the picture taking mood. Mommy had told me we were going to the pool this past Fourth of July. She suited me up. Put my floaties on. Slathered me with sunscreen. And then...nothing. I waited and waited and waited. Then, she pulled out the camera. This was no time for pictures! I wanted to start heading to the "poo" aka pool. Thankfully, after what seemed like forever me, Mommy, Daddy, and Grant along with a turtle float, our lunches, two water bottles, beach towels, toys, and all of Grant's essentials packed into a bulging bag...started the trek to the pool. Thankfully these expressions disappeared quickly as soon as I hit the water. Sorry, no pictures...but we had a lot of fun!

Happy Fourth of July...Again

Why Mommy didn't put this photo with Grant's, I'll never know. But here I am in my Fourth outfit that Grandmama got me. This was right before we left to go see the fireworks. I'm carrying my purse as well if you couldn't tell. Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July from me, Grant! Here I am sporting my red, white, and blue suit given to me by Grandmama (and I didn't add the other yellow color this time). Don't I look patriotic? I really felt proud to be an American.

Life is Better in the Tub

Last time we mentioned the tub, I wasn't doing too well. I'm happy to announce that I am no longer grumpy in the tub. In fact, shortly after that post I began to enjoy my bath. It's a happy time now...despite the fact I often spit up while in the tub and squirt a little pee pee stream into the air. So I may not be getting super clean with the mix of spit up and pee pee in the water (Grandma, don't cringe) but I sure am having a lot of fun!

Fast Asleep

As Mommy mentioned in a previous post, I love to sleep on my tummy. It's just so snuggly. I can get into a little ball and feel so cozy. So here I am, fast asleep. Speaking of sleep and my tummy...since I've been sleeping on my tummy I'm a much better sleeper. I usually sleep 6-7 hours during the night before I need to eat again. Mommy said she's really proud of me. I think I'll keep it up!

Floor Time

Mommy has started to let me lay and play on the floor on a blanket. Hannah wants to too. So here we are laying on our backs together enjoying the view. I had a lot of fun...can you tell by my big smile? As for Hannah, I'm not too sure what she's doing with her hand under her shirt. She really is pretty silly. But I like that about her.

Daddy's Rattlesnake...YIKES!

Yes folks, that's a rattlesnake for you! A man Daddy works with caught this rattlesnake in someone's yard! Daddy is babysitting the snake...was babysitting the snake....until he could get it up to the office. I heard the rattlesnake is going to take a long nap soon. For safety reasons, I wasn't allowed near the snake. Thus, I didn't get to get in the picture with it. Mommy didn't seem too eager to go near it either. She said it's dangerous. But had she not held me, I would have walked right up to that snake. He didn't scare me a bit. I call it a "nake." But I have to obey Mommy and Daddy. I'm not sure Daddy realized it was dangerous though because he touched the snake and held it. I'll have to let him know.

Here Ya Go

You may be wondering what's so special about these photos (my thoughts exactly). Well, Mommy said I had a funny story to share about them. I don't know what's so funny about it. But I'll share it anyways. Funny I said "share" because that's exactly what these photos are about..sharing. You see, I saw the fish on the box of Goldfish and thought he might like some fish too...despite the fact he is a Goldfish. Mommy said it would be like he's eating his own kind. Whatever. Anyways, I kept handing him a fish and saying, "here go." He didn't reach out and grab it so I kept trying. I just laid them right next to him. I thought maybe he just wanted to eat them at his own pace. Understandable. So I waited. . .and waited...and waited for him to eat some. But it never happened. So Mommy said I could eat them for him. And I did. But maybe next time he'll have an appetite.
