Playing Outside

At the beginning of the party we all played outside. It was a beautiful day. Uncle Sean helped keep the ball from rolling down the hill. We kept him busy with that job! Allie, Ellie, Kyle, and I all had a blast kicking the ball around while we waited for everyone to arrive. Oh and please take note of my "pig" tails!

The Balloons

Check out my piggy balloons! Thanks to Grandmama...we got TEN of these GIANT balloons to help celebrate my birthday! Each child took one home...and I think Mommy was happy for that! But aren't they so cute! We still have three floating around the house. We almost lost two before the party. Mommy had set some outside to get them out of the way. She glanced outside only to find two of them MIA. We knew they couldn't have flown away because they had weights on them. Mommy searched and searched and soon spotted those crazy guys floating in the driveway across the street. You see, there were two other balloons tied to that mailbox (a model home). My guess is, they wanted to mingle with those balloons. But we rescued them and brought them safely home. Those silly piggies!

The Cupcakes

Well, Mommy forgot to take a picture of the "spread" before the party...so she tried to reinact it afterwards with what was leftover. Just imagine another platter of cupcakes and a giant pig balloon and you'll get the full effect. A couple of the piggies here are injured..missing an ear. Don't know what happened to those guys other than a hungry mob making an attack. And a side note Mommy wanted me to share....do you see those little piggies scattered about on the bar? Well, those piggies have been with Mommy since she was in FOURTH grade! Mommy and her friend from fourth grade got those to do as a craft. Obviously, they didn't do anything with them. Mommy found them in the bottom of her craft box and decided to paint them for my party. Who knew those piggies bought SEVERAL years ago would wind up celebrating my second birthday?

I'm Four Months Today!

Well, most of the day we celebrated Hannah's birthday. She'll be two on Thursday. But it was my birthday too...my four month birthday! Can you believe it? I haven't gone for my appointment yet so no knew stats to give you. Hannah and I actually go on the same day. Mommy is really excited about that! Two babies with sets of shots to get. I'll try to be tough. I might not be too good at that though! We'll give you my four month update as well as Hannah's 2 year update when we go next week. And of course, we'll be posting pics from Hannah's ever so exciting pig party! And here is a picture of my big sis when she was four months old.

Living Inside the Box

Hi, and welcome to my house. Okay, it's not really a house. It's a box, I know. But the other day Mommy and I transformed this Southern Living box into an amazing house. How did we do it? With crayons and a little innovation. You see, I decorated the inside while Mommy decorated the outside...well, the doors. She made me a welcome mat and two windows and two doors. I painted the inside all sorts of colors. And I added a few of my touches on the outside as well. It sure is fun to decorate a house. Now I know why Mommy likes it so much. After all that work, I was pooped. It was time to go night night. Mommy asked if I would like to take my nap in the box. I said, "okay." And so I lyed down in my box. . .but just for a few minutes. Then I had to go to my real bed. But we had all sorts of fun in my big box...excuse me...my house.

This Little Piggy...

As most of you heard, Hannah is having a Piggy Party. That means...Piggy Hats! Boy was I pumped to wear my piggy hat. Granted, it looked more like a pink cat hat but it's awesome nonetheless. I was thrilled to wear mine. Hannah, not so much. She thinks she's too cool or something. Not me, I think it's great fun to dress up like a pig. I even heard Mommy made pig snouts too! I hope she didn't leave me out. I'll wear mine proudly just as I am wearing this hat. We'll be sure to post some Piggy Pics from her party on Saturday. Oh boy!

A Series of Shots

Hi, it's me, Grant. The other day Mommy took a series of shots with Hannah holding me. I had a rather good time and so did Hannah. . .for a brief moment at least. She doesn't like me all up in her grill. Like that slang? I'm a pretty hip dude for a 4 month old. Well, enjoy these photos!

Watchin' a Little TV

Here we are just watchin' some tv. Something really good was on so it caught both of our eyes. I'm sure it was Curious George...Hannah's favorite show in the mornings.

Hey Buddy

I often hear Mommy say, "Hey Buddy," to Gant. So sometimes I do too.

"Hey buddy," I say. To which Gant says, "Hey Sissy, (that is if he could speak...I'm sure that's what he'd be saying in this picture)."

Crusty Ears

I often hear Daddy say I have crusty ears. Apparently Mommy isn't cleaning them well enough. Although, she sure does spend a lot of time on my ears during bath time. Hannah agrees with Daddy. She's pointing out the crust in my ears again. Sheesh. How much scrubbing will it take to get those little crusties out for good?

Hannah...That Tickles!

Hannah likes to tickle. Of her top ten things to do...tickle is probably number one or two. She loves to come up to me, or Mommy, or Daddy and make a certain sound that I cannot duplicate and then tickle her fingers on you. Man, she's good. She sure knows how to make a baby smile.

Balding?

Gant, I think you're losing your hair.

Listen Here...

Listen here, Gant. I'm the boss. You got that? Look me square in the eye so I know you understand (Ya'll didn't know there was an aggressive side to me did you?).

Sibling Rivalry has Begun

After Mommy snapped a few shots, I had had it. I wanted nothing more to do with my baby brother Grant. So I made it clear, I was done. In one picture I was saying, "No Gant, dats mise arm!" I do not like Grant touching me. Then the ceiling hit the fan and I cried "No! no! no!" to Mommy. Thankfully the photos stopped and I could be relieved from holding Gant.

A Love Story

Last week Mommy did a craft with me. She painted a canvas pink and then put paint all over my hands and feet. Then, you know what happened next I'm sure. I, or should I say Mommy, stamped my feet onto the pink canvas. We're going to hang it in my room soon as Mommy is finished with the other touches. Well, after I stamped my feet down, Mommy had me stand in a bowl of cold water immediately to wash the paint off my feet and boy was I happy. I do not like messy hands or feet. And then, I fell in love. This bowl full of water was just too much fun! I splashed my hands in it. I threw rocks in it. I had a blast. While Mommy was trying to return my attention to the fun painting task at hand, I became enamored by this bowl of water and could think of nothing else. When Mommy said we had to go inside, I cried. No, I WAILED. I didn't want to part with this bowl full of water. I begged and begged Mommy to let me go back outside. I said, "Mommy, ousigh, bowl." Finally, she gave in that day. And now, everyday. In the afternoons, Mommy, Grant, and I go out on our front porch (the ONLY area of shade around our house) and we play in this yellow bowl of water. I've introduced my rocks to this bowl. I dip them in and let them swim around. Then I add leaves, mud, pinestraw. Boy, it's a blast. People often wonder what we're doing on our front porch with this yellow bowl of water. We get strange glances. But I don't care. I am not ashamed of my yellow bowl of water.

Boat For Sale

Now, this has nothing to do with me or Grant but we thought we'd post this anyways to help Daddy out. Daddy is selling his boat. You see, he got it a few years ago and has enjoyed a few fishing endeavors on it. However, not enough to make it worth keeping...especially if we can make a little money off of it and we'll need every penny now that we have succumb to the formula monopoly out there! He was planning on taking me and especially Grant on it to go fishing one day. But, let's face it, that won't be for another 8 years or so. At least that's when we won't have an attention span of a small child. So, if you would like this lovely boat...or know of someone who would...give us a call or leave a message after this post. We'll fill you in on the details! And just picture yourself cruising along the open waters on a nice summer day with the breeze whipping your hair. Ahh...wouldn't that be nice????

You're Getting Sleepy...

The other night I was a tad bit fussy. Mommy was cleaning up the kitchen and getting my bottle ready (by the way...I am strictly formula fed now...Mommy gave up the fight and finally gave in to formula only...I'm happy about that...I really enjoy the bottle). Daddy took the reigns to let Mommy get a couple of things done before she fed me. You see, my last feeding is right before bedtime and it's a stretch to keep me awake for it. But I usually manage...with very sleepy eyes. Back to the point...Daddy rocked me back and forth like this to calm me. And boy did it work. In no time I just zonked out. I'm not to sure that it was as comfortable for Daddy as it was for me though. But just look at that contentment on my face.

Goodbye Pool, Until Next Time...

Well, Mommy took us for our last trip to the pool. I'm sad to be saying goodbye. But Mommy tells me we'll go next year and that it will be more fun because Grant can enjoy it too. The pool has proven to be a good friend during these hot summer days. I'll miss you pool. Ellie, joined me in saying goodbye. What a sad day.

Double Time!

Hannah may have already perfected the single sucking of her thumb...but can she do two thumbs at once? I think not! I am the master of the double thumb sucking. It's twice the comfort on those particularly hard days, such as today where I have to sit in my stroller while Hannah enjoys her last visit to the pool. Man, I can't wait until I can enjoy the pool too!

Playtime!

Playtime has officially arrived for me. Not only do I like my rattles, but I also enjoy these things. None of us really know what to call them. But if Mommy says, "Hannah bring me Grant's toy," this is what she gets. So this is my "toy." Not my only toy I hope! I enjoy Mommy dangling them over me and then I also enjoy getting all tangled up in them. Except, sometimes I can't figure out how to get out of them...so that's why I have that "HELP!" look on my face. That's the face I flash before I let out little whimpers. Yes, I am known for my whimpers. I know if I sound pititful, someone will have pity on me and pick me up.
