Sibling Love

You know, Baby Grant isn't so bad. He's actually getting more fun to play with each day. I really like it that he thinks I'm so funny. It doesn't take much to get a smile out of him! I can't wait until he's a bit bigger and can walk and play more with me. Just today, I was jumping up and down and I said "Look at me Grant!" Then I told Mommy, "Grant wants to jump too." I thought Grant would appreciate me speaking up for him since he can't quite make out words. And, jump he did, but with Mommy's help. I still think he appreciated me speaking up for him. That's what big sisters are supposed to do, right? I can't wait until he can do it on his own though. Oh what fun we'll have!

Just Chillin'

Yep, that' me, just chillin'. I love to roll around on my tummy these days and grab whatever I can find. My objects of choice: the remote and telephone. In fact, I'm getting close to crawling. What else is new, you ask? Well, I've gotten my two bottom teeth. I know! Isn't that awesome! I'm just so ready for Mommy to give me that first piece of steak.

The Cake

After present time we got to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and eat that cake! It was delicious. In fact, Mommy and Daddy think it's what kept me up until 10:30 that night! Really, I just didn't want the party to end! So there's our Christmas, finally documented for all to see. We hope all of you had a great Christmas!

Trying to Survive

As for me, I just tried to survive the rest of Christmas day. I was glad Grandmama was there to love on me. I took a rest in her arms to recoup from the days activities. I sure hope next year I'll be feeling much better.

All "Dolled" Up

Just call me Cinderella these days. . .that is, when I'm wearing my Cinderella dress, tierra, and high heels. Don't I look "bootiful?" I must admit though, walking around in these shoes can be quite a challenge, so much so, that I prefer to just wear my socks. And the tierra, well, it's a bit bothersome too so I prefer to leave it on the ground most of the time. My dress, well, it's just the most wonderful thing I've ever adorned myself in. How magical it feels to be Cinderella! Thanks Ma Ma! And yes, that's my new baby doll. Grandmama and Grandaddy got me that. She really enjoys me feeding her while I wear my new dress. She thinks it's awfully amazing to have a princess for a Mommy. I would too. Mommy, are you a princess?

Present Time

Well, Christmas Day we had a full house. Grandmama and Grandaddy came, along with Ma Ma (my great grandma!). Uncle Tim and Aunt Bethany came down as well. After we had our Christmas brunch we got to open MORE presents! I sure am glad Aunt Bethany was there. She helped me open all of my presents. . .and I had a lot. I even tired and had to take a break. After some prompting, I put my game face back on to finish the job. Mommy had to help "baby G-man" open his gifts since he's just a novice. Poor guy, he looked a little confused while all of this was going on. But, back to me. I gave Uncle Tim and Aunt Bethany some love (which I love to do) after receiving their gift. So here I am, as I like to say, "just lovin' um." Oh and Grandmama and Grandaddy got me this great broom. I love me some sweepin' so now when Mommy is sweeping the floor I can help with my very own broom! Life is good.

Christmas Morning

Well, this was my first Christmas. I didn't feel good, but after several saline drops, the dreaded nose bulb, followed by numerous wipes with Kleenexes and some special lovin' from Mommy I got to enjoy my new toys that morning. I don't really know why they were there but I won't complain. I especially loved my new ball and bat Mommy and Daddy got me. Finally, some boy toys around here! Actually, Hannah really enjoyed my toys too. After much coaxing from Mommy, Hannah finally got excited about her dollhouse. That was her big present this year. She's been playing with it ever since. As for me, I have been busy practicing my mad ball skills while also brushing up on my carpentry skills with my new tool set. Maybe Papa and I can get to building something soon now that I have my own tool bag! How 'bout it Papa?

Christmas Eve

We're slowly getting our Christmas pictures up...we've finally made it to Christmas Eve. Daddy and I went to the Christmas Eve service at church while Mommy stayed home with a VERY SICK Grant. That explains his pretty disheveled and pitiful look. He got what I had and was one pitiful little fella. While we were at church, I got a candy cane. Daddy let me eat it on the way home. I think you can put two and two together to figure out my messy face and shirtless top half. Needless to say, I had to have a bath before we opened our Christmas Eve present. Grant and I wore our Christmas PJs Grandmama got for us. Then, thinking for Grant, I opened the gift so he wouldn't get too worn out. It was a fishing game...what I call the "fishey bolt." I love it! Grant, well, he didn't seem to care too much about it by that point in the day. But now he loves to pull out the fishies. I get a little frustrated with that and prefer to play with an adult. They are much less messy. All in all, it was a great night!

A Birthday Cake!

Since Christmas is Jesus' birthday and all, Mommy and I made Him a birthday cake! Mommy even let me lick the beaters. I was a "messy gurl" but sure enjoyed that "chochet." The final product tasted delicious and we got to share it with Grandmama and Grandaddy on Christmas day (but we'll get to those pictures later). Oh and close your mouth, you're drooling.

My New Kitchen!

Papa is such a handyman! For Christmas he made me this pink kitchen! Oh boy, I love it! We couldn't take it back with us though because it wouldn't fit in our car. But, Gandma and Papa came to see us the other day and brought it! It's in my room and I just love to play in it! I make Mommy french fries (my favorite) and make her eat them with a "poon." Mommy tries to do it with her hands but it's more sanitary and lady like to eat them with a "poon." I also enjoy putting my "peoples" in there. It's like a big house in the oven and under the sink! Thanks Gandma and Papa! I'll be sure to have Mommy take some pictures of me playing with it in my room!

Welp, present time at Grandma's and Papa's was a lot of fun! Grant especially enjoyed opening his gifts...his new xylephone in particular. He couldn't keep his hands or eyes off of it.

Frosty the Snowman

Check out this fine piece of work. He's a snowman. I think he's pretty cool...haha. Did you get my joke? Allie, Kyle, and I really enjoyed visiting the snowman in Grandma's and Papa's yard. I especially liked his nose. Did you know he has a carrot for a nose? "He's a silly boy." And he takes naps just like me! At night he goes down to the ground. Mommy says he was going night night. Then, in the mornings Ashey and I would go and wake him up! What fun it was!

My Christmas Attire for Grandma and Papa's House

Mommy dressed me in this sweater vest, khakis, and button up shirt for Christmas at Grandma's and Papa's. I heard people refer to my ensemble as preppy, nerdy, and Zack Morris-like (whoever he is...something about a bell or what not). Mommy said I was a little stud in this get up. I liked it. I felt like a real stud.

Cousins!

Here's an updated picture with our cousins. The last time we all took a picture together Grant (which I know pronounce Grrr-ant...kind of like the Frosted Flakes tiger, Tony I think his name is, when he says "They're Grrr-eatt!) was in Mommy's tummy. Grrr-ant and I weren't the most photogenic here but that's okay. I enjoy keeping my fingers in my mouth these days and I'd rather do that than look good for a picture. Allie just loves Grrr-ant and was a good little mother to him while he was there. He liked it.

I Ain't No Baby Allie..and a Shopping Update

Well, Allie seems to think I'm still a baby. While we were eating our popsicles she kept saying things like, "Hannah, can you say Da-Da?" To which I replied, "Daddy is at work." Come on, Allie, you know I'm smarter than a 1 year old! Here is a taste of that conversation we had. I don't think Allie ever got the point that I have moved on from two syllable words to more complex sentences. I can now say things like, "Mommy, whatchu like to gink?" or "Mommy, I'm sad," or "Mommy, I'm all done night night," or even "Mommy, I go see Daddy. I'll be right back in just a minute." Maybe next time I see Allie, she'll treat me like the big girl I am. But I do love my Allie.

On a different note, today was Monday Madness. That means a trip to CVS and Walmart. Saturday Mommy and I went to "Pudix" together while the boys stayed at home. I like it that way because I get to ride in the car cart and get a free cookie. Pudix was our best place for deals this week. Mommy spent $20 and saved $30! We loaded up on Chex Mix for snacks for home and to have on hand when it's our turn to bring snacks for Community Group. We loaded up on juice, yogurt, Knorr sides, and salsa. Mommy had coupons for all the deals...most were B1G1.

CVS wasn't bringing out too many good deals this week but we did manage to get two deoderants and 2 hair sprays for $7 total. We saved $10 total.

And Walmart....well...we stocked up on 1/2 off wrapping paper, gift tags, an ornament for Gant next year, and ribbon. But the deals weren't the highlight from the trip. No, the highlight would be shopping with a regular cart with a toddler, that's me, in the big basket, and an ever curious sitting infant, that's Gant, in the front. You see, we no longer have use for the special carts. Papa and Gandma got Gant a car seat for Christmas (thanks!). So the infant carrier is gone. And, in our beloved special carts there is not a place for a sitting baby. We have entered into a new phase of shopping that will require some fine tweeking. Gant tries to eat Mommy's list as well as whatever else he can get his hands on while I, well, I like to try to open or play with the things that Mommy surrounds me with, such as eggs, baby food, yogurt. Today, I managed to get the spool of ribbon Mommy was buying stuck on my finger TWICE. The second time was a doosy. I screamed as Mommy pulled and tugged my finger. We thought I just may go home with this attached to my body. I just couldn't figure out how I would eat with it on my hand or take a bath. But thankfully, Mommy got it off. And a few minutes later I stopped crying. Those ever present eyes we were so familiar with from Gant's first grocery journeys did return. This time because of me. I'm sure they were wondering why Mommy had me piled in the basket with a bunch of groceries scattered about. But that's Walmart's fault. They never put us into consideration when planning their carts. What we need is a special car WITH a place for Gant to sit. So, until Gant reaches 2 years old then we'll be trying to perfect this new shopping situation. Let's just hope for my sake we never have a BIG shopping day at Walmart. Is it possible to drown under groceries?

Maggie and Me

Some of you have heard of Marley and Me....well this is all about Maggie and Me. After Hannah got her lovin' from Maggie, I had my chance to do the same. She's such a good pal. I love to touch her fur and especially her soft ears. Every time I see her, she takes my breath away...literally. Maggie, you're a dear friend.
