Enjoyin' the View

The view from up here is amazing! I can keep an eye on Hannah and all the other kiddos beboppin' around. I prefer to just sit, not slide...on this particular slide at least. It's a little steep for me right now. But I camped out here for awhile. I even noticed a few children misbehaving (please note my: "oh no you didn't" face in the appropriate picture).

Weeeeee!!!

It's park time again! The weather is warm and sunny. It's time to hit the playground. I'm much more excited about this now than I was several months ago. You see now Mommy will let me swing with Hannah. She even let me go down the slide all by myself (sort of...you see, she had me sitting on the top. She turned away. I leaned forward, and....weeeee.....don't worry she got hold of me in time before I plumetted onto the wood chips below). The swing is my favorite though. There's nothing like the warm breeze hitting your skin while gliding through the air. Hannah, well, she's a pro. She likes to go high and fast. Me, I'm still enjoying a gentle push now and then. Even that takes my breath away a bit. Give me time, though. I'll be out swinging her before long.

Good Morning!

I like to greet Mommy each morning with a happy face. I want her to know I'm happy to see her (and ready to get out of my bed). I think she likes it. She usually says, "Good morning little guy (I like to be called "little guy") and then swoops me up and gives me a hug and kiss. What a great way to start the day!

Whatcha Watchin'?

Hanny sometimes lies on the couch to watch some of her favorite shows. So, the other day I thought I go and see what this was all about. It kept my attention for oh, 30 seconds, until I was off for a new discovery. Maybe when I'm a little older I'll understand what's so fascinating about a curious monkey, a big red dog, talking pigs, or a red furry guy named Elmo.

Resourceful

It seems that Mommy and Hannah are always on the go. Just when I get situated with my toy, they've up and moved. Now, I can move too, but my problem is moving my toy with me. Until, I realized I already had just what I needed to move my toys with me, my mouth. So, I pop that baby in and away I go, right behind Mommy and Hannah. When they decide to stop, I do too. I pop my toy out and I have it to enjoy in my new setting. I am finding a problem, however, in moving a bit larger toys. My mouth just isn't THAT big.

The Final Day

Here are a few final shots of our snow. I had a great time. And I forgot to mention that I slid down the hill with Daddy. It was so much fun! We didn't get a picture but trust me, next time it snows, I'll be doing that again! Oh snow, I hope you come to see me again.

The Day After

The day after the big snow Mommy took me back outside while Grant napped. That meant I had to be bundled up. Coming from the south, you don't really have a need for gloves and such. So, Mommy improvised and layered my hands with socks. Yes, socks. They did keep my hands warm and dry for the most part. When we made it outside I noticed that the snow wasn't so soft. It was like ice. I love ice. So, I did what any ice-loving girl would do, I ate it. And, I shared it with my snowman. I figured, he's made out of ice, I'm sure he'll like it too! And he did. I shoved it right in his face. It stayed there.

Snowman

This is our snowman. Sometimes I was afraid of him, sometimes I wasn't. Mommy and I had big ambitions with this guy. He was going to be tall. He was going to be fat. He was going to be the best. Well, he wasn't any of those things when we finally finished with him. I gave up on him. But Mommy, she perservered. And finally, we had a finished product. I know, he's puny. But he's our snowman. I was so sad when I looked outside two days later only to find the snowman had to go see his mommy. Mommy said that maybe next winter he'll come visit us again. I sure hope so. Until then, I'll keep you in my memory snowman and in my conversations...I talk about you every day in hopes that one day you'll return to me.

Grant here...I didn't enjoy the snow. It was wet. It was cold. It wasn't any fun. I don't care if that snowman ever comes to visit us again. And that's all I have to say about that.

SNOW!

Folks, they're finally here...our snow pictures! Boy, do I love snow! It started coming down while we were at church and it didn't stop the WHOLE DAY. What was my favorite thing about the snow, you ask? Well, it would have to be eating it. Thankfully no doggies were treapsing around our yard. . .says Mommy. I'm not sure why she said that. Maybe she just didn't want them eating my snow. That's thoughtful, Mommy. Our yard was like a winter wonderland!

It's Potty Time!

Well, not really. We're still in the "waiting for more interest" stage. You see, I'm just not that interested in pee peeing on the potty. I'm quite content sitting in a wet diaper. Poopies, well that's another story. But, one day, I did decide to try my hand at this potty thing. Mommy even gave me a juice box to really fuel me up. So I sat, and sat, and sat...until....no pee pee. I really wanted that "big treat" Mommy kept mentioning. I sat so long my bottom appeard to have a permanent outline of the potty seat on it. Mommy says we'll really kick it into high gear at the end of this month. We'll see.

9 Months (2 Weeks Ago)

Finally, here I am, two weeks ago, at 9 months (we'll eventually get to those snow pictures too). That's right folks, I'm 9 months...almost 10 now. What is my life as a 9 month old like? Well, it's great. I wake up around 7. I have a bottle then it's on to oatmeal. After that, Hannah and I play with Mommy in the den. Usually, I get tuckered out and am down for a nap for a couple of hours. Upon waking up, I enjoy another bottle and some yummy lunch with Mommy and Hanny. We sing songs while we eat (my favorite). Then we all play some more. Hanny and I go down for a nap in the early afternoon, only to wake up a couple of hours later. I am greeted again with another bottle and some more fun time...outside if the weather is nice! We play until dinner. Then, it's bathtime, Then bottle time. Then bed. That's my life as a 9-monther. I am crawling like a beast. I can pull up and cruise. And I have been known to stand on my own for a second, literally, before plummeting to the ground. I have two teeth. Another is about to emerge. I love the yellow CareBear, Funshine Bear, to my dad's regret. I am 18 lbs. 13 ounces. . .only in the 16th percentile for weight. But, I'm in the 66th percentile for height. We forget how tall I am at the moment. I'm above average tall though. That's all you need to know. I've had my share of falls over the last couple of weeks. I fell off the bed. I knocked our cd shelf over onto me. I left that with some marks on my face. And I tend to find myself drawn toward the electrical outlets. I think Mommy realizes I'm not as docile as Hannah. Although, I may be just as sensitive, if not more. I often cry when Mommy says a stern, no. My lip quivers and my chin draws up. Then, I can't hold it in any longer and I let out my wail. It's tough being a little guy. But, all in all, life is good for this 9 monther.

A New Place to Play

The other day Hanny pulled open this door. What was behind the door was amazing. Hanny was tossing out plastic bowls and lids...all just screaming at me to chew on them, throw them, and hit them. I had to crawl in to see if I could find anymore. That's when I got caught red handed. But, Mommy didn't seem to mind. She just took my picture and didn't say those dreaded words, "no, no." Hannah came to join in on the fun too. Man, am I gonna have some fun in here!

Little Mommy

It seems that Mommy often wears her sunglasses atop her head. I see them more there than I do on her face. Although lately, since I broke Mommy's sunglasses, she hasn't sported this look. So, in honor of Mommy, I will.

Nerd Alert

Mommy calls me a nerd in these pictures. Why? And, what is a nerd? I'm just so proud I'm learning to pull my pants up all by myself. I don't want them falling down so I'm trying extra hard to get them as high up as I can. That should stop any of my bum from sneaking out. I'm just modest. And there's nothing wrong with that.

A Girls Gotta Have Some Fun

After my tasty lunch, I decided just to have a little bit of fun. Kick back from the race talk and enjoy the playground. So, I did just that. I took it to the slide and had good times slip sliding down. It still is one of my favorite attractions at the playground. Some of you may have been wondering where Grant is. So, I added his picture. Since he can't walk and crawling would be a digestive disaster with wood chips everywhere, Mommy wore Grant in the Bjorn. He seemed to enjoy it. And so, that is our day at the park (two weeks ago). It was full of fun and, yes....SPEED.

A Girls Gotta Eat!

All that talk about racing, well it made me hungry. Thankfully, Mommy packed a lunch. I proteined up with my PBandJ and then had some fruit snacks as a tasty treat. I'm thinking I may need a little bit extra to eat if I indeed proceed in my pursuit of the Nasbug. I am a little scrawny. I could use a little more meat on my legs so I can get that extra boost to propel me forward in the races. But for now, I'll enjoy my PB and J and fruit snacks because, well, they're my favorites.

No Biggie....

I heard Nascar doesn't allow Wheely Bugs to race. No biggie, I've got a back up plan and it just so happened that plan was at the park. I just hopped in this yellow taxi cab to get some experience behind the wheel of a car. Danica, you can't get me off your back that fast. I've got connections. It felt great to feel the breeze dance through my hair as I hit the road (well actually I didn't hit the road...I just rocked back and forth...but whatever). As I was crusin' along, an idea hit me...just like the idea to form the Chub Club years ago. But, this is different. I'm thinking about a Nasbug. Yes, Nascar for Wheely Bugs. It would be great. I can picture it now. Thousands of bugs lined up ready to race. Then, BANG! Thousands of little feet are off...pushing their Wheely Bug to its limit. It would invigorating...and more environmentally friendly...no exhausts polluting our air. Green Racing. Yes, I think I'm on to something.

Wheely Buggin' It...

That's right folks, I took my Wheely Bug on the road. It's time to let these wheels burn some real rubber. A couple of weeks ago we met some friends at the park. I took my wheels along for a spin around the track. Danica whatever your name is...you better watch out. I'm feelin' the need for speed these days. My skills are so sharp, that I can manuever this bug with one hand. What's my other hand doing, you ask? It's holding rocks. Yes, rocks. I'm one tough wheely bug racin' gal. Get in my way, I'll pelt a rock at you. That's how serious I am.
